Energy Market Commencement
The first Trading Day in the Wholesale Electricity Market established under the Electricity Industry (Wholesale Electricity Market) Regulations 2004 commenced at 08:00 hours Western Standard Time on 21 September 2006. Notification of the Appointed Day
The Appointed Day for the Wholesale Electricity Market was established under the Electricity Industry (Wholesale Electricity Market) Regulations 2004 as 10 November 2006.
This was the day by which each person that owns, controls, or operates a facility that is connected to the South West Interconnected System, had to be registered as a Rule Participant, or else exempted from the requirement to register as a Rule Participant.
Wholesale Electricity Market Regulations
The Wholesale Electricity Market is established under the Electricity Industry (Wholesale Electricity Market) Regulations 2004.
The Regulations cover the responsibilities and functions of the governance bodies including the IMO and the Energy Review Board, as well as detailing requirements for registration and enforcement of the Market Rules.
