Expressions of Interest

2010 Expressions of Interest

The first process in the Reserve Capacity Mechanism is the calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI). Market Participants and other interested parties may submit Expressions of Interest to the IMO detailing their intention to develop generation and/or demand side management capacity.

On 29 January 2010, the IMO issued a Request for Expressions of Interest for new generation and demand side management capacity to be available for service during the period from 1 October 2012 to 1 October 2013.  The submission period has now closed.

Sixteen Expressions of Interest were received, totaling 644.295 MW of new capacity potential.  A more detailed summary of the responses to the Request for Expressions of Interest is published below.
