Gas Advisory Board

The IMO has established an interim Gas Advisory Board (GAB) to advise to the IMO in the development of the initial Rules for the GBB and GSOO.

The GAB is a committee of industry representatives convened by the IMO to advise the IMO in the development of the initial Rules for the GBB and GSOO. The design of the GAB largely reflects that of the IMO’s Market Advisory Committee, which provides advice to the IMO in relation to rule changes, procedure changes and electricity market operation matters in general. The IMO has established the GAB on an interim basis to assist with the development of the initial Rules for the GBB and GSOO.

2013 Annual Review of the Composition of the GAB

The IMO is now formally establishing the GAB under the Gas Services Information Rules.

In accordance with the GAB Constitution, the IMO is required to annually assess the composition of the GAB known as the 'GAB Annual Review Process'. An overview of the process is outlined in the GAB Constitution and Appointment Guidelines.

While GAB members are nominated by the industry, GAB members are appointed in a personal capacity, not as a representative of a company or industry body. GAB members are asked to act in the best interests of the WA gas industry as a whole having regard to the objectives of the GBB and GSOO. Further details on the GAB and the appointment of members can be found in the Gas Advisory Board governance documents below.   Contact details for GAB members are available below:

The sole function of the GAB is to develop an initial set of rules for the operation of the GBB and GSOO, after which the IMO will dissolve the GAB. Membership on the GAB therefore continues until the GAB is dissolved (subject to resignation or removal in accordance with the GAB Constitution).
