The Wholesale Electricity Market Rules govern the operation of the Market in the South West Interconnected System. The Rules cover the roles and functions of the IMO and other market governance bodies, and guide the operation of the market (including the trading and dispatch of energy, the reserve capacity mechanism and settlement).
The Market Rules Evolution Plan presents a three-year plan endorsed by the Market Advisory Committee. The plan incorporates a list of:
issues raised by various stakeholders since the commencement of the Market, and outlines a number of minor and major market development reviews proposed to address each of these issues; and
logged rule changes which need to be considered, and where appropriate, progressed.
An updated plan will be published every six months to incorporate updates to the reviews, changes in priorities and work completed during the preceding six months.
