Background
As an outcome of the 2009 annual review of the composition of the Market Advisory Committee (MAC) the Independent Market Operator (IMO) has undertaken a review of the relevant Wholesale Electricity Market Rules (Market Rules) and MAC Constitution. As an outcome of the review the IMO proposes a suite of changes to implement the IMO’s recommendations. These include:
- Amending the Market Rules (RC_2009_28);
- Amending the MAC Constitution; and
- Introducing a document outlining the “Market Advisory Committee Appointment Guidelines”.
In accordance with clause 2.3.4 of the Market Rules, the IMO must invite public submissions when developing or amending the constitution of the MAC.
The Rule Change Proposal “Market Advisory Committee Constitution and Operating Practices” (RC_2009_28) is also open for public consultation at the same time as these two documents. The suite of changes should be considered as a whole.
