Measurement of REC Liability in the WEM
21 August 2006
The IMO has confirmed with the Office of the Renewable Energy Regulator that for the purpose of measuring obligations under the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act the amount of electricity acquired in the WA electricity market is to be:
- measured at customer meters (both interval and accumulation); and
- when required adjusted by an average Distribution Loss Factor (DLF) for the SWIS calculated on an annual basis.
Individual retailers can determine their RECs obligations in the WA electricity market on the basis of their aggregate customer demand adjusted to the transmission and distribution system boundary by applying the DLF.
The document below presents a guide for the measurement of REC liability in the WA Wholesale Electricity Market for your information.
